Blog assignment #1 ( campcraft )

Campcraft! That is what I have everyday. It was supposed to be only three hours a day and three days a week but due to the competition being held in early February, it was decided that we have our campcraft trainings every day until 7pm. Once I reach home, I will always feel very tired but I will always commit myself to VSNPCC. VSNPCC has given me the chance to give back to the school what she has given me since Secondary 1 and this is the reason why I joined campcraft. I joined campcraft as there will be a competition and it is the most prestigious competition in VSNPCC and so that I can bring honour to VSNPCC. Anyway, this was what happened just...

I was crossing the road after my prayers with my friend, Farhan when I spotted our H.O.(Honourary Officer if I am not wrong) walking from the bus stop to the school. As we were quite close to him and he being friendly to us, we chat for a while before we went our separate ways from the canteen . Our H.O. was going to the campcraft area while Farhan and I was going to the canteen to have our lunch. I just had a quick snack as I was still full since recess. I met my other friends at the canteen but most of them were not from the campcraft team. I felt that those in the campcraft team were not as close to our other squadmates because we go for campcraft everyday but they went for normal trainings on Fridays only.

After our lunch, we went up together to the NPCC room to get the campcraft things such as twines, ponchos, pegs, poles and many others to bring down to the campcraft area but our NCO(Non-Commissioned Officer) informed us that they had brought the stuffs down for us. Farhan and I ran as fast as we could to the campcraft area while the others stayed to clarify some doubt but when we reached the place, our Sec. 3 seniors were not there due to some courses so we could not pitch a full tent with the gadget and flagstaff. Due to this, my partner for gadget, Benjamin, who is also the squad chairman, and I had to practise our gadget only. This was boring as we were used to having all our team mates doing full pitchings together. There was one thing which I could not forget, and that was that if you pulled the twine too hard and it slipped, you could get rope burn or even blisters on your hand. I was the only person (I think..) who does not have any blisters on my hand yet. All my other team mates had already suffered blisters and some even suffered injuries. My sec. 3 senior, Kenny, injured his finger while he was pegging. Benjamin also suffered the same injury but it was not as worse as Kenny's.

But anyway, at about 6pm, the sec 3s arrived therefore we had to at least do one full tent before going home. We did not finish our tent due to certain circumstances. After our campcraft training had ended, we walked past the tennis court, only to find our other squad mates still there playing soccer. By then, I could not resist the temptation to play soccer as it had been a long time since I played soccer with my squad mates. I felt that by doing so, we could bond ourselves and not get separated as some of us were in the campcraft team therefore we did not spend as much time as before with each other. We could not play soccer after every campcraft training as we had to rush home to complete our homework so that we did not miss out in our schoolwork. This is why I am always so tired in the morning during school as I always stayed up late at night, doing my homework so that I can hand it up on time.
